Learning UX Laws

Even though I'm doing Human-Computer Interaction research and have done tons of frontend development through my software internships, I feel like I haven't formally learned UI/UX principles. Honestly, I often feel like an imposter calling myself a UI/UX developer. I know I have the skills and I implicitly know a lot of the rules involved with good design and UX but I don't know the correct words for them and I definitely don't know everything.

In my pursuit to learn, I came across this webpage of UX Laws which I loved! I decided to create my own UX Laws page in order to learn more about the different principles and try applying them as small examples. I learned my first UX Law I today which was the Aesthetic Usability Effect. Basically, it says that people will perceive your designs as more usable if they are aesthetic and that they will be more forgiving of minor usability issues if it looks nice. You can read my thoughts and see the example I made to demonstrate this here!
